The General Pharmaceutical Council is recruiting:

Registration Assessment Question Writers

The GPhC has a team of 20+ question writers who write questions for the Registration Assessment. We are in the process of building up our bank of questions and in order to do this are seeking to recruit additional question writers.

The Board of Assessors is responsible for setting and marking the General Pharmaceutical Council’s Registration Assessment. There are two sittings per year, in June and September. Each sitting comprises of two papers. Part 1 is a 40 question calculation paper requiring free text answers and part 2 is a 120 question multiple choice paper. The Assessors set the paper and award marks for the Assessment. Prior to papers being set, questions are submitted by question writers and reviewed by other question writers either remotely or in review workshops. Assessment papers are produced by the Assessment Writing Manager for review by the Board of Assessors.

Question writers need to be pharmacists, preferably working in patient facing practice and with recent experience of pre-registration training, and knowledge of the standard required of a newly registered pharmacist. Experience in writing questions is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
