Tenure-Track Non-Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 201701022)
Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Non-Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science, with a strong track record of high quality research in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, drug delivery and other relevant disciplines. Those who are with research interests that complement the departmental research strategy that focus on the development of drug delivery systems for pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, nanomaterials for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes, strategies for drug transport across biological barriers, and pharmacokinetics are desirable. They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and contribute to the curriculum development of courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including medical, pharmacy, biomedical science, nursing and/or Chinese medicine. Hong Kong Pharmacist registration and teaching experience will be advantageous. Information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.pharma.hku.hk/.
A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
