We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced pharmacist who is used to working at a senior level to play a pivotal role in the delivery and development of an integrated pharmaceutical service within NHS Dumfries & Galloway, ensuring the delivery of high quality pharmaceutical care, in and across all care settings.

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is a Health Board with ambition and vision.  We are working with our partners to make our communities the best place to live active, safe and healthy lives through a programme of Health and Social Care integration which is the most extensive in Scotland.  In addition, we have recently opened our new and exciting £250 million 350 bedded acute hospital; allowing us to deliver safe and person centred acute care in outstanding facilities.

The successful applicant for this exciting post will also fulfill the role of pharmaceutical advisor to the Board and the Pharmacy Superintendent as defined in the Medicines Act 1968 for NHS Dumfries & Galloway. The postholder will be professionally accountable to the Medical Director.


Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the South West of Scotland amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK. The town of Dumfries is located approximately one hour from the Lake District and has good transport links to major cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Belfast. The region is renowned for excellent schools and educational facilities, together with a range of leisure and cultural facilities and the many other advantages associated with rural and semi-rural living.

The appointment requires current GPC registration and license to practice.
