Members of the Board of Assessors
The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) wishes to appoint up to two pharmacist members to its Board of Assessors. This is the body responsible for the GPhC’s Registration Assessment, the national examination that pre-registration pharmacists must pass in order to be eligible to apply to register as a pharmacist in Great Britain.
Pharmacist members of the Board bring their expertise as pharmacists to the Board and help to ensure that the primary purpose of the Registration Assessment is upheld.
The members will be pharmacists eligible to practise in Great Britain, with:
- at least three years’ experience in the past five years of providing patient-centred care
- experience of assessing competence/performance in pharmacy practice
- experience of developing and/or quality assuring assessments
- current or recent involvement in planning or delivering pharmacy education and training
The appointment will be for four years in the first instance. The position is remunerated and the members will be expected to devote about 15 days to the role each year.
