We’re recruiting a Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team based in Glasgow

About the Role

A great opportunity for a Pharmacist who has just completed their pre registration year to join a market leading pharmaceutical company and gain invaluable experience dealing with specialist and complex medicines.

The hours of work can be flexible and agreed,  you will be required to work 7.5 hours a day Monday – Friday e.g. 8-4/9-5 however you will need to be flexible as we do require cover from 8am – 7pm. 

The role will require you to;

  • Be responsible for the final check/release of dispensed medication, ensuring a high level of accuracy. 
  • Screen prescriptions from customers to ensure that treatments prescribed are safe, effective and evidence based.
  • Liaise with Operations team and Transport to ensure urgent deliveries can be made to patients at short notice.
  • Act as the Responsible Pharmacist for LloydsPharmacy Clinical Homecare as required.
  • Support the work of pharmacy technicians and assistants Advise and support patients on the use of their medicines.
  • Undertake statutory pharmacy duties and responsibilities.
  • Promote pharmacy advice to Lloyds Pharmacy Clinical Homecare business units.
  • Assist with the recording and reporting of adverse drug reactions when necessary.
  • Attend compulsory training sessions e.g.: pharmacovigilance and therapy training.
  • Apply clinical/technical knowledge to problem solving.
  • Carry out audits as required by the senior pharmacy team.
  • Ensure all reconstituted items are stable and suitable within the device intended.
  • Undertake statutory pharmacy duties and responsibilities.
  • Be a pharmaceutical ambassador for the company at meetings with NHS clinicians, scientific seminars, conferences and symposia.
  • Work within the team to facilitate self and colleagues’ professional development.
  • To provide on call cover if necessary.

Our preferred candidate will have the following:



Qualifications, Training & Experience:

  • MPharm or equivalent qualification.
  • Further education e.g. Part 1 of the Clinical Pharmacy Diploma, MSc or equivalent.
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
  • Dispensary checking and dispensing experience either in hospital, retail or private pharmacies.

You will also need to demonstrate that you have the following:

  • A registration of the GPhC
  • Ability to learn from other people and draw on their skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Systematic and structured approach to tasks and process
  • Effective communicator with all level of staff
  • Possession of a full UK driving license
