About the opportunity

Mainly based in the LPCH Head office in Harlow, you will support and lead in ensuring that all appropriate clinical governance arrangements as set out by the RPS standards for homecare services are embedded and maintained. You will ensure patient and medicine safety is always maintained and that general professional practice standards are best in class and deliver on our commitments to patients.

You will be the day to day point of contact as the pharmacy standards and governance subject matter expert in all clinical and professional matters providing internal and external leadership. You will act on service user feedback and internal risk management programmes to drive continuous quality improvement in care and patient experience.

As Deputy Superintendent Pharmacist for LPCH, being accountable for ensuring that professional and governance frameworks are established, maintained and executed to a high standard in accordance with GPhC and McKesson UK expectations. You will deputise for the LPCH Superintendent Pharmacist to embody a consistent and an aligned approach to medicine safety and clinical standards in a way that is coherent to how Responsible Pharmacists operate within LPCH dispensaries. You will have management and organisational responsibility for the newly created patient experience and incident management teams.

You will shape and contribute to the highest level of quality in dispensing and prescription management services ensuring that the patient is at the heart of everything the team do and that delivers on patient experience and safety. You will be working closely with the McKesson UK clinical standards team to align and exchange best practice as we look to create new care models of which pharmacy practice standards remain pivotal to the success of delivering on patient outcomes. You will help teams drive process and safe systems improvement to optimise prescription and medicine pathways for a growing organisation.

About you

It is essential that you have 10+ years post registration experience within hospital pharmacy or equivalent sector at senior level. You must have a deep understanding of clinical pharmacy practice within the acute sector, preferably clinical homecare. the as a qualified Pharmacist registered with the GPHC.
