The role

An exciting opportunity to work in a highly rewarding sector with some truly inspirational patients and colleagues. As our Director of Pharmacy you will be the professional lead for the pharmacy within the organisation. This role reports to our Executive Medical Director and collaborates across Addaction with senior stakeholders and external governing and regulatory bodies. You'll be responsible for all professional pharmacy issues, encouraging innovation and creativity and ensuring the highest standards of corporate and clinical governance are maintained business wide. You will be Addactions lead on medicines management, managing a national team of pharmacy professionals. You will also be Addaction’s Medicines Safety Officer, Home Office Responsible Person and Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to really help shape the future of Addactions clinical directorate. This role will sometimes require national travel.

What we’re looking for We are looking for an experienced pharmacist who holds current GPhC registration. You’ll need experience in the field of substance misuse with demonstrable experience of achieving excellent patient safety and satisfaction across the board. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and bring creativity to help streamline and improve our clinical offering. We need a confident leader who will be able to deputise in our Executive Medical Directors absence.  You will be expected to represent Addaction at a strategic level, working with a number of external organisations.

This role will need to maintain an excellent level of knowledge around legal regulatory and compliance standards. You will also ensure services are adhering to CQC standards and we remain compliant across Addaction.
