Description: This top performing University hospital rated “Good” overall and “Outstanding” in some areas in their most recent CQC inspection, currently have opportunities for both Specialist and Rotational Band 7 Pharmacists.

This is a great time to join the hospital as they have recently restructured the Division of Medicine to deliver the Needs Based Care Project and the trust is due to receive a 99 million pound investment from NHS England to completely develop their site.

They are a digitally advanced trust with electronic prescribing already in place and they have installed a bespoke dashboard allowing pharmacists to prioritise their workload. The following Band 7 pharmacists positions are available:

Acute Admissions

You will be joining a team of band 7 pharmacists responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to the admission wards. Your focus will be to deliver a patient-centred ward pharmacy service ensuring medicines reconciliation is completed within 24 hours of admission. A strong emphasis is placed on talking to our patients, advising them of changes in medication whilst supporting a fast and efficient discharge process utilising our satellite pharmacies.

Rotational inc Paediatrics/Critical Care/Haematology/Oncology

Respiratory/Gastro/Cardiology/Complex Care/

Your focus will be to deliver a patient-centred ward pharmacy service and forge strong links with other healthcare professionals. This will be achieved through attending consultant led ward rounds and MDT board rounds. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with Lead Pharmacists and given small to medium term directorate projects to further assist your development.

The trust is committed to your further training and development to enable you to maximise your potential contribution to patient care and will actively support you in obtaining the non-medical prescribing qualification.

Person Specification: GPHC Qualified pharmacist with previous hospital experience at Band 6/7 level or equivalent.
