The multi-award winning University of Cumbria is a wonderful blend of old and new, founded on a rich educational history with institutions dating back more than 150 years.

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team, in the delivery of high quality academic provision. In particular, you will have a key role supporting the organisation, design and delivery of our Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) programmes. This is an exciting time in the field of non-medical prescribing and our dynamic and contemporary programmes of study are designed to ensure that the growing number of health care practitioners granted legal prescribing status are fully prepared for this key role of being safe and effective prescribers in practice.

You will develop positive working relationships with NHS and other partners, to ensure that the Institute is proactive in meeting contemporary agendas and workforce development needs, especially in relation to NMP.

Educated to master’s level or above, you will have excellent communication skills and will demonstrate enthusiasm for practice based learning, teaching and assessment alongside a passion for student success. A willingness to use a range of innovative technologies and strategies in the support and provision of high quality learning opportunities is essential. You must hold current professional registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body and have a recorded independent prescribing qualification.

We are particularly keen to hear from pharmacists or pharmacologists who hold the appropriate prescribing qualification.

We are seeking innovative, creative, high quality researchers, and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.

Secondments and job-shares may be considered for this post.
