Job Details
The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences at RGU is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy Practice to support the delivery of pharmacy courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This is an exciting time to be involved with pharmacy initiatives within the school. We already have highly successful MPharm and MSc Clinical Pharmacy Practice courses and we are involved in developing plans for a new 5 year integrated MPharm course and an MSc Advanced Pharmacy Practice course. We have also initiated a number of overseas teaching and research collaborations with potential opportunities for foreign travel.
The School has established three research themes that align directly with the principal areas of delivery across the taught provision. These three areas are: Research in Chemical Sciences (including analytical chemistry, drug design, formulation science and sterile manufacture of medicines); Research in Biological Sciences (incorporating biomedical sciences, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and nutrition), and Practice Research (including all patient-facing activities, professional experience and educational research). Each of these themes is led by an experienced Professor with a proven international research reputation and track record in generating external funding. It would be desirable for the appointee to have experience in aspects of research or service evaluation / audit in pharmacy practice.
This role is designed as a full time, permanent post but, depending on suitable applicants, there may be the possibility of part-time, job share and secondments considered. This post may be particularly attractive for applicants keen to retain a practice clinical base while gaining experience of teaching and research within an academic setting.
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the GPhC . Annotation as an Independent Prescriber and active prescriber experience would also be desirable.
This post insubject to the individual being required to join the PVG scheme. For moreinformation, visit: https://www.mygov.scot/pvg-scheme/
Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience. Candidates with limited/no lecturing experience will be placed on the first point of the scale, although consideration will be given to a market supplement (reviewed bi-annually) for those with specific industry experience.
