Head of Pharmacy & Medicines Management

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Management to lead medicines optimisation and pharmacy services across the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (Northern Ireland).

The Northern Trust provides a comprehensive range of health and social services to a population of almost 438,000, has a budget of over £700m and employs 12,138 staff across a full range of medical health and social care disciplines. The Trust delivers services from a range of facilities including two major general hospital sites, a mental health hospital, a number of local community hospitals and a range of community facilities as well as provision of care in the home.

As a successful candidate, you will lead a team of 250+ pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff.  You will be responsible for providing corporate, strategic and professional leadership as well as overseeing the operational delivery of a broad range of pharmacy services.  You will have a focus on quality improvement, innovation, safety and research and working closely with the Regional Medicines Optimisation Innovation Centre (MOIC).

You will also be required to lead on the challenging Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation agenda.

You will play a key role in delivering a programme of transformational change and service reform. You must be able to think strategically and deliver operationally.

You should be a resourceful and persuasive communicator and relationship builder who is capable of winning the confidence of our stakeholders.
