The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, formed with the merge of FCO and DFID, holds a licence granted by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for handling medicinal products including vaccines. This requires a Responsible Person (RP) to be named on the licence.
The RP will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the licence requirements and safeguarding product users against potential hazards arising from poor distribution practices, as a result, for example of poor storage or failure to establish the bona fides partners we engage in projects involving distribution of medicines.
Maintaining compliance with the licence requirements allows the FCDO to continue delivering vital work cross our Humanitarian, Global Health, Overseas Territories, COVID-19 Response and HR Directorates. The licence is particularly important in the current circumstances as the FCDO supports recovery from COVID-19.
Benefits of the role include: • Learning and development tailored to your role • An environment with flexible working options • A culture encouraging inclusion and diversity • A Civil Service pension
