Coventry University is achieving an unprecedented level of success. Having earned a place in the world top 250 in the 2019 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, secured 15th spot in the 2020 Guardian League Table, No.1 Modern University in the Midlands (Guardian University Guide 2021) and achieved a gold rating in the government’s 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework, our vision is to continue to enhance our position as a leading provider of innovative education and impactful research both nationally and across the world.

As the largest School in the University, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health has a broad provision of health profession related courses, including a large portfolio of CPD courses at UG and PG levels. Due to our continued success and growth we now deliver the Practice Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing at our CU London – Dagenham campus for students from the North east London NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to take up a full time position as an Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Independent Prescribing on an initial one year contract.  Applicants must be a registered health professional with a prescribing qualification; we would welcome applications from nurses or AHPs.

Previous experience of teaching within a Higher Education Institution is highly desirable, although not essential, and your application should detail your area of clinical/teaching experience and expertise. You will have a strong commitment to developing and maintaining productive relationships with placement providers, employers and other stakeholders. You will also need a high level of inter-personal skills, and personal effectiveness to promote a high-quality experience for all of our students. Your teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research informed.

The University offers academic and professional development and there is the opportunity of a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification for individuals who do not hold a recognised teaching qualification. You will be supported to develop your interests in order to progress your career. Salary is dependent on experience.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Clare James - clare.james@coventry.ac.uk
