Oncology Pharmacist Tunbridge Wells Hospital - 30 hours per week - salary up to £51,750 (pro-rata) depending on skills and experience £3,000 Golden Hello Bonus Our pharmacy team at Nuffield Health Hospital Tunbridge Wells currently have an exciting opportunity for a specialist Oncology Pharmacist. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and self-motivated pharmacist to integrate with the Pharmacy team and oncology multi-disciplinary team to deliver an outstanding level of service to our oncology and haemato-oncology patients. As a key member of the wider multi-disciplinary team at Nuffield Health, you will feel the benefit from processes that fully integrate medicines into the personalised pathway of care for our patients. The ideal candidate will work flexibly to meet the demand of the service: the oncology service is currently operational across 4 days per week and the expectation is that this role would cover the 4 days but has flexibility in how the hours are worked on
each day. Blended working arrangements would be considered for the right candidate. The ambition is for the successful candidate to additionally support their Pharmacy colleagues through in-situ training and competence to create a multi-skilled Pharmacy workforce
within the oncology service offering. The key responsibilities to include: To deliver a high-quality Pharmacy service within Nuffield Health Hospital Tunbridge Wells to oncology and haemato-oncology patients, in line with current government, NICE and BOPA guidelines
Undertaking medicines reconciliation, organising discharge medications, provision of drug information and clinical counselling of patients
Maintaining pharmaceutical care plans for all oncology and haemato-oncology patients
Verification and screening of prescriptions for SACT treatments
Supporting and advising our clinicians on safe prescribing within oncology and haemato-oncology
Daily coordination of the administration and delivery of SACT treatments to patients, maintaining effective communication with (and support to) the Pharmacy dispensary
Development of protocols and guidelines for SACT treatment
Ordering of SACT in readiness for patient treatment
Education and training of colleagues in support of their development with oncology competencies
Liaison with other Nuffield Hospital oncology sites to share knowledge and expertise
Attending meetings with Pharmacy and other oncology leads within the Nuffield Health group, implementing changes to policy and procedure locally
Skills & Experience : UK Registered Pharmacist with GPhC
At least 4-5 years of post-qualification experience
Post-qualification experience within oncology and haemato-oncology is essential for this role
Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
Excellent communication and people skills. This is essential as you will be working closely with patients as well as a variety of clinical staff.
