Job title: Pharmacist Medior.
Location: St Albans.
9-month FTC.
£27.97p/h
SRG are looking a for a pharmacist medior to work for a global healthcare brand based in St Albans. As a medior, you will be responsible for patient and prescription management for specialist homecare pharmacy therapies, as well as GPhC requirements and any other relevant compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for picking up pharmacy lead duties in the absence of the lead pharmacist.
This role would be perfect for a GPhC pharmacist with post registration experience working in homecare pharmacy, some experience undertaking clinical investigations would also be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Be the Responsible Pharmacist to deliver prescription management and dispensing across all therapies in line with operational KPIs and standards, whilst maintaining patient safety.
Process the prescription receipt and conduct clinical screening/intervention in line with the standard operating procedures.
Accurately dispense prescriptions and ensure the timely reporting of near misses and dispensing errors.
Place product order and authorise prescription entries on the Patient Medication Record (e.g. Homecare).
Formulate unlicenced medicines and raise the purchase order with the manufacturing provider in line with the patient & customer requirements within the contractual timeframes.
Communicate and collaborate with the relevant clinical teams to ensure patient adherence is being met in line with the prescription, and escalate where appropriate.
Record and escalate adverse advents and incidents to the relevant escalation point (e.g. Lead Pharmacist, Quality, Pharmacovigilance, Superintendent Pharmacist and Safeguarding Lead).
Provide clinical counselling and product expertise for patients, associated care teams and pharmacy support staff.
Address and resolve discrepancies relating to the onsite storage, and during the transport of pharmacy products (e.g. temperature excursions)
Mentor and coach pharmacy support staff in the delivery of associated pharmacy training
Investigate complaints and incidents as directed by the Lead Pharmacist and produce written responses for the Lead Pharmacist to review for submission.
Candidate Requirements:
Registered Pharmacist with GPhC
Skills * Strong organizational skills * High attention to detail * Process-driven * Risk-management * Strong communication skills * Good coaching and training capabilities * Strong collaboration skills * Meet tight and competing deadlines * Good problem solving skills
Experience * Post registration experience of working in homecare pharmacy setting would be advantageous * Successful experience of undertaking clinical investigations (e.g. near-miss investigations)
Knowledge * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GPhC and RPS pharmacy standards as part of continuous professional development (CPD)
