A fantastic opportunity is now available for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the on-site pharmacy team at a leading acute care hospital.

Located in vibrant East London, the hospital has recently been awarded an “Outstanding” CQC rating (with all services receiving no lower than a “Good” score) and is investing heavily in its people and facilities in commitment to exemplar health care, education, and research.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be able to work alongside a forward-thinking team to effectively dispense prescriptions and resolve medication queries from both patients and colleagues, ensuring both clinical and non-clinical pharmacy services are optimally safe and patient-focused. Specific opportunities are available within the following areas:

HIV Services Homecare and Off-Contract Claims Medicines Optimisation Rotational (through which you’ll see the Dispensary, Distribution and Community Health Services, Procurement, and Clinical Trials/High-Cost Drugs Data Management) You will be able to contribute to ongoing projects within the department (such as the full automation of hospital-wide medicines management processes and the implementation of virtual wards) as part of your role and you will also be supported through further training and professional development, including accredited courses for Accuracy Checking, Good Clinical Practice, and supervisory qualifications.

This is a permanent position for a hospital-based Pharmacy Technician, ideally full-time (37.5h) although part-time and other flexible options can be considered.

Person specification:

(Essential) Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician. (Essential) Substantial experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. (Desirable) Existing Accuracy Checking certification. For Medicines Optimisation: (Desirable) Existing Medicines Optimisation qualification.
