Job Purpose: The Pharmacy Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing expert leadership in quality assurance across various departments and services. This includes overseeing the Quality Assurance Department, Pharmacy Aseptic services, Pharmacy wholesale dealing, Nuclear Medicine Services, and external customer services. The manager ensures compliance with regulatory standards, including the Medicines Act and MHRA licensing requirements, and plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality pharmaceutical services for patients and customers.
Key Responsibilities: Act as the quality controller to meet MHRA/Section 10 licensing requirements for various units and services. Plan and deliver QA services to the Royal Derby site and external customers. Plan fridge temperature monitoring for different sites. Act as RDH Quality Controller for batch releases. Lead external inspections and audits. Ensure compliance with GMP standards and approve SOPs for QA & Aseptic Services. Manage quality management systems related to MHRA licensed services. Develop commercial opportunities and partnerships. Coordinate with production managers for testing and inspection schedules. Provide expert advice on GMP and ensure individual and team performance through recruitment, training, and management. Engage in strategic service planning, capacity management, and securing funding for service developments.
About you: GPhC registration as Pharmacy Technician Post registration masters degree level qualification (or equivalent relevant experience) Membership of APTUK Proven significant experience of operational and strategic leadership

Communication and Relationship Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to provide expert opinion and advice on GMP. Effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrable leadership skills and ability to develop and maintain commercial opportunities. Knowledge, Training, and Experience: Science degree or equivalent, with post-qualification specialist knowledge. Significant post-registration hospital or pharmaceutical practice experience. Accredited 'Quality Controller' by MHRA. Specialist knowledge and experience of GMP, GCP, and GDP. Analytical and Judgmental Skills: Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to assess complex information quickly and accurately. Manage complex problems and evaluate best practices. Planning and Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate specialist services. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Meet deadlines and pay attention to detail. Physical Skills: Ability to occasionally perform laboratory work. Proficient keyboard skills for policy & reports. Responsibilities for Patient/Client Care: Act as the Quality Controller for batch releases. Provide specialist quality assurance services. Identify and manage risk effectively.
