Newson Health Limited is a CQC registered Menopause and Wellbeing Centre. Established in 2018, we are dedicated to the care of perimenopausal and menopausal women of all ages.

We have 8 physical clinics across England, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, London, Bournemouth, Southampton, Chester, Harrogate, Altrincham, and Alderley Edge, as well as providing remote consultations via video and telephone.

The primary focus of the role is to treat and manage patients and the associated work that this encompasses, whilst attending multi-disciplinary team meetings and to uphold the Newson Health mission, values and working practices.

Requirements

Skills & Knowledge

Clinical – to be a Menopause Specialist, we are looking for Pharmacists who are prescribers with a good employment record in Primary Care. Having completed the ‘Confidence in the Menopause’ course via the Teachable platform, within the past 6-12 months. They will have an interest in menopause and women’s health having attended lectures, talks or have further qualifications in this area. They will be confident in prescribing HRT and ideally, have ran a dedicated menopause clinic for at least 6 to 12 months., They will also have a thorough understanding of the health benefits and any risks of different treatment options.

Attitude - We are looking for Pharmacists with a positive attitude to learning and good team players. Newson Health prides itself on offering opportunities to learn through the Clinical Team Chat and multidisciplinary team meetings; and supporting the efforts to educate others outside of the organisation in the perimenopause and menopause. In treating patients, it is essential to actively listen, be empathetic in your approach along with maintaining quality clinical records, providing a quality service to patients, and treating colleagues and staff with respect.

Management – Managing your time and interactions with patients and other members of staff is key to ensuring that clinics happen effectively and efficiently. Continually looking to improve the way that the service is being delivered and sharing improvement ideas as to how this can be achieved is always welcomed. Having experience in running a virtual menopause clinic is desirable.

Responsibilities

Most of your time will be spent seeing patients and liaising with members of your admin team and other clinicians. All Menopause Specialists are part of a supportive clinical and non-clinical team.

  • Clinical Consulting – Providing quality consultations for New and Follow-Up patients.
  • Clinical Advisory – Answering patient queries between appointments.
  • Provide a first-class patient experience while simultaneously efficiently managing a busy diary.
  • Deliver a minimum of 4 clinical sessions per week in order to maintain clinical professional standards.
  • Respond to necessary tasks and queries raised outside of the consultation appropriately and in a timely manner, including but not limited to the interpretation of Well Woman and hormonal blood test results.
  • Share lessons learned with colleagues.
  • Keep up to date with the clinic’s prescribing guidelines, policies, operational processes, and clinical templates.
  • Be open and transparent about your practice.
  • Manage complaints, near misses and examples of excellence appropriately.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with your allocated administration support team, building a good working relationship of mutual support and respect.
  • Provide feedback where appropriate and be accepting of feedback identified, so all parties provide a learning environment for continuous improvement for the benefit of the clinic.
  • Attendance at the clinical multi-disciplinary team meetings, conferences and other relevant educational events/meetings, and input into the clinical team questions
  • Complete all mandatory training including compliance and health and safety.
  • Champion and advocate for the Newson Health practices and culture, always seeking to maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills.
  • Willing to go above and beyond for all stakeholders.

Location: Home-based (and/or Clinic Based if applicable)

Working hours: 16 hours per week - ideally on Thursday & Friday.

Salary: £64,531.25 per annum, in addition to a competitive salary, we offer a wide range of benefits including:
