B5 Pharmacy Stores Manager
37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm
Role Summary:
• Minimum two year’s staff management/supervision experience- Essential • Minimum of 2 year’s working within a pharmacy stores and distribution service - Essential • Manage the stores & distribution team and service, providing an efficient day to day running and coordination of services and personnel in the stores and distribution area. Duties • Ensure an efficient and effective top-up and distribution service is provided to all wards and departments. • - Ensure stock level and expiry date checks are carried out in accordance with the relevant SOPs. • - Participate in the education and training of pharmacists, technicians & assistants. • - Use for the Epic system for stores and distribution related issues and provide support and training on its use. • - Support/partake in trust wide and departmental projects where stores & distribution expertise and knowledge are required. • - Ensure the maintenance and rotation of adequate stock levels of all medicines and consumables stocked within stores to avoid unnecessary waste. • - Co-ordinate and supervise stores staff with regards to cycle counts, picking lists for top-up requests, boxes of stock items and any other work undertaken within stores or distribution. • - Ensure appropriate working conditions are maintained and that the relevant principles of Good & Safe Practices, and those of the Health & Safety at Work Act are applied at all times. • - Ensure the appropriate storage of all medicinal products ensuring all temperature requirements are adhered to. • - Co-ordinate an efficient ward topping-up service and produce and disseminate weekly rotas to staff. • - Co-ordinate regular reviews of the ward stock lists in conjunction with relevant colleagues. • - Operational requirements as demanded by the day to day working environment such as unloading the bulk IV fluids deliveries into the IV storage area. • - Co-ordinate the day to day requirements of medical gases storage and supply and ensure medical gas training requirements are maintained for the stores team. • - Assist and co-ordinate the training and accreditation of Pharmacy Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacist and Pre-registration trainees within the stores team. • - Train all new staff in current ward topping up procedures and monitor their progress on a regular basis. • - To ensure SOPs are adhered to and record keeping and training documents are completed appropriately. • - Co-ordinate actions related toto the department’s drug recall procedure for medicines stocked within the stores and dispensary areas
We currently have a variety of part-time, flexible hour rotas available that complement the full-time locum and permanent roles that we are currently recruiting for.
