Pharmacy Dispenser | Borehamwood | Full Time - 9am- 6pm (one-hour unpaid lunch) therefore 40 hours weekly job in the pharmacy | £24,000 - £26,000 per annum DOE
Our client is an online-based pharmacy providing a golden standard pharmacy service for both NHS and private prescription services to care home residents and individual patients. As a care home specialist pharmacy, the majority of their medications are dispensed in a blister pack (Pod system).
Are you the right person for the job?
The candidate must meet the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council for dispensing and pharmacy assistants, by completing the dispensary assistants course. Candidates living locally or within a feasible commuting distance are preferred
Attention to detail Ability to clearly interact with team members and GP surgeries Can efficiently manage multiple tasks Understanding of medications, their uses, and potential side effects Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and electronic prescription services
What will your role look like?
Prepare and dispense prescribed medications, ensuring accuracy in drug selection, dosage, and quantity Label and package medications appropriately Review prescriptions to ensure they are clear and complete Verify the accuracy of patient information and medication details Interact with healthcare providers, answering queries, and providing information about medications Monitor and manage stock levels of medications and supplies. Place orders as needed to maintain an adequate inventory of commonly prescribed medications Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications Process prescriptions, either manually or electronically Ensure that medications are stored and handled safely, adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements What can you expect in return?
