As we continually develop our course delivery in the School, we are looking to recruit a Curriculum Lead to support the establishment of Pharmacy education at Coventry University.

 

The Role

As Curriculum Lead in Pharmacy, initially, you will be responsible for the effective design, roll-out and delivery of new, high-quality MPharm Pharmacy provision which will align with the University's Corporate Strategy, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) accreditation standards and other key education standards and initiatives. Engagement with the Pharmacy community across the Midlands to establish a network of placement opportunities will also be critical for success.

Once this new curriculum area is established, you will be responsible for the quality, effectiveness and strategic direction of Pharmacy education at Coventry University, and will oversee staff appointments and staff workloads, to deliver a high-quality student experience alongside student success.

As a Curriculum Lead at Coventry University, you will work to drive the school’s vision and ambitions for the area and support staff to deliver effective and high-quality courses. You will be responsible for leading the curriculum development and work with the school’s leadership team to deliver the KPI’s as set out by the University’s Corporate Strategy.

 

Qualifications Required

  • A PhD plus experience in the relevant subject area or an equivalent level of professional experience alongside a postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject.
  • Recognised teaching qualification in Higher Education and/or recognition against the UK professional standards framework.
  • Hold professional registration with the GPhC.

 

Our Successful Candidate

This role requires strategic thinking, external relationship building skills, leadership acumen, and a passion for delivering innovative and outstanding educational experiences.  You will have a strong profile as an academic or practitioner, providing evidence of leading and implementing good practice alongside the ability to support and contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum, transnational education partnerships and international commercial projects.

You will be a UK registered Pharmacist, with experience across several branches of Pharmacy both outside and within a Higher Education setting. You will also have insight and expertise within MPharm Pharmacy course design and successful experience of satisfying the associated GPhC accreditation standards.

Experience of Pharamacy placement development would be highly advantageous as this role will involve working alongside the internal Service User and Carer Engagement team and the Placement Education Support Unit to ensure that high-quality experiences and placements are available for Pharmacy Learners. This will involve building relationships with stakeholders across the Midlands and beyond.

Record of achievement in curriculum leadership including evidence of coaching, mentoring and developing others will also be required as you oversee the recruitment of a highly skilled team to support the introduction and delivery of this new subject area within the Coventry University Group, working with key stakeholders across the group to support recruitment of students and student success.
