As Operations Support Lead you will play a key role in supporting the Lead Pharmacist for Operations to manage all operations within the pharmacy and support the line management of all staff (excluding Pharmacists, Procurement, Management), ensuring a high quality and innovative patient and customer experience is maintained. To direct and support the line management of all staff excluding the pharmacists, procurement team and management team on a day to day basis, including completing quarterly priority setting meetings and holding yearly appraisals. 2. You will be expected to work with the Lead Pharmacist for Operations in ensuring the day to day operations are being managed to create a smooth and effective running of the pharmacy by: * Prioritising workloads and utilising staff qualifications and experience to suit certain tasks * Undertaking certain HR duties such as return to work forms, late forms, disciplinaries, with the support of the Lead Pharmacist for Operations or a HR consultant when needed * Communicating regularly with the pharmacy team to ensure a continued and consistent approach to operations and a clear understanding of goals and expectations. * Working with the Office Manager and Lead Pharmacist for Operations to support rota management, ensuring the appropriate levels of staff are maintained at all times. * Assisting with shortlisting and interviewing candidates for any vacancies that arise. 3. Working with the Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Governance and Training you are required to support the Superintendent Pharmacist in the delivery of excellent clinical governance standards. 4. To undertake dispensing duties in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP); organise the timely supply of out of stock medication to patients, prioritise and delegate to other pharmacy team members when necessary; counsel patients on the use of their dispensed medications, offering advice and answering any queries they may have; refer any queries to a more experienced member of staff or a Pharmacist when appropriate. 5. To support the Lead Pharmacist for Operations and Procurement Manager in facilitating the efficient stock processes; compile weekly reports using CMM to maintain stock levels/discrepancies and investigate where needed; manage stock control and the maintenance of stock levels within the dispensary; communicate/report large stock discrepancies to the Procurement Manager/Lead Pharmacist/ Superintendent Pharmacist. 6. To develop and deliver ancillary services in the pharmacy to maintain and support future growth. 7. To implement and support process change and additional training where identified. 8. To attend weekly management meetings with the wider management team, and any other organisational meetings that may occur. 9. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required. 10. To demonstrate the company’s values and behaviours at all times. *Essential Skills Required For This Role:* • Accredited NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent • Able to lead by example, reflecting company values at all times • Experience of managing a team of technical staff and services • Excellent customer service skills • Strong communication skills - must be able to recognise and overcome barriers to understanding e.g. language, deaf, learning difficulties • Experience of using pharmacy CMM computer system • Efficient at planning and organising • High level of IT literacy and use of a pharmacy computer system • Hospital Pharmacy Experience • Cash handling and till work experience • Demonstrable commitment to CPD • Fluent written and spoken English including good numeracy • Clean DBS or able to pass one when required • Previous experience with recruitment/HR and interview process *Desirable Skills For This Role:* • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician • Accredited for locally commissioned enhanced services e.g. Stop Smoking • Experience of using prescription tracking systems • Experience of service improvement and experience of developing and extending services • Experience in preparing documentation eg. procedures *Additional Information:* * At no time should the post holder work outside their defined level of competence or outside of defined SOPs. If the post holder has concerns regarding this they should immediately discuss this with their Manager. * All staff who are members of a professional body must comply with standards of professional practice/conduct.
