Job Advert: Women's and Children's Pharmacist - NHS Hospital (London) Hourly Rate: £32 - £38 per hour Location: NHS Hospital, London Contract: Temporary via Hunter AHP
Hunter AHP are seeking an experienced Women’s and Children’s Pharmacist to join a leading NHS hospital in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist team, providing expert pharmaceutical care to women and children across a variety of clinical settings. We offer highly competitive hourly rates and the chance to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment within the NHS.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice and support for women’s and children’s services. Conduct clinical medication reviews and ensure safe, effective medication use for paediatric and obstetric patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient care, including prescribing and dispensing medicines. Participate in ward rounds, offering expert advice on drug therapies, drug interactions, and dosage adjustments. Provide education and training to healthcare staff on the safe use of medications in paediatrics and obstetrics. Monitor patient progress, adjusting medication regimens as necessary based on clinical outcomes. Ensure compliance with NHS guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practice in the safe use of medicines. Support the development of clinical protocols and guidelines within the women's and children's services.
Skills & Experience:
MPharm degree (or equivalent) and GPhC registration. Extensive experience working as a pharmacist, ideally in women’s and children’s pharmacy services within the NHS or healthcare settings. Knowledge of the unique pharmaceutical needs of paediatric and obstetric patients. Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess, monitor, and adjust medication regimens. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams and engage with patients and families. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and research.
