£33ph - £37ph Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Specialist Pharmacist to join our client's hospital pharmacy team in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to work at Band 8a level in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will have hospital pharmacy experience equivalent to clinical diploma level and, ideally, experience in biologic clinical switching and screening within rheumatology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting multidisciplinary teams with the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care. You will contribute to medication management, clinical decision-making, and patient safety initiatives across a variety of specialities, with a particular focus on biologics therapy. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist pharmaceutical input and advice to clinical teams, with a focus on biologic therapies in rheumatology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. Support the clinical switching of biologic treatments, ensuring safe and effective use in patients. Conduct medication reviews, monitor patients for adverse effects, and offer guidance on dose adjustments and therapy choices. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, offering expert advice and contributing to clinical decisions. Review and optimize drug therapies, ensuring the appropriate use of medicines in line with evidence-based practices. Provide training and support to pharmacy staff and clinical teams on biologics and related therapeutic areas. Contribute to the development of local clinical guidelines and protocols relating to biologic therapies. Support the monitoring and auditing of biologic therapy use to ensure adherence to local and national standards. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Essential Criteria: Hospital pharmacy experience. Experience working in a hospital setting, with a strong understanding of clinical pharmacy practices. A recognised postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (e.g., Clinical Diploma or equivalent). Demonstrated experience in biologic clinical switching and screening. Experience within rheumatology, dermatology, or gastroenterology is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical, evidence-based solutions. A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and continuous professional development. Ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities. Desirable Criteria: Experience in biologic therapy management within rheumatology, dermatology, and/or gastroenterology. Advanced knowledge of biologic therapies, including the latest clinical guidelines and treatment protocols. Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of training and educational initiatives. Membership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) or equivalent professional body. Salary:
