Location: Central London Hourly Rate: £17-£22 per hour Hours: 5 days a week, 9am - 5pm (30-minute lunch break) Contract Duration: 3-6 months (Immediate Start)
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated Dispensary team in central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician seeking a dynamic role with responsibility and the opportunity to manage and support a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the provision of a comprehensive Dispensary service with a focus on the safe and efficient dispensing of medicines. Dispense outpatient, in-patient, and discharge prescriptions in line with SOPs. Dispense Controlled Drug requisitions and maintain the pharmacy's PMR system. Provide counselling to patients and carers on the safe and effective use of prescribed medicines. Ensure patient confidentiality is upheld at all times. Manage stock control, identify discrepancies, and report accordingly. Handle stock management for Theatres and associated areas, including stock audits and liaising with Theatre staff. Line manage Band 4 rotational technicians, providing leadership and support. Prepare non-sterile extemporaneous preparations in adherence to SOPs and GDP standards. Participate in daily stock checks and maintain accurate records of materials.
Stock Control and Supply:
Ensure timely handling of stock items for Theatres and associated areas. Address any stock shortages in Theatres, providing suitable alternatives. Participate in Medicines Storage Audits and liaise with Pharmacy Purchasing regarding supply issues. Investigate and resolve Controlled Drugs discrepancies within Theatres, escalating when necessary.
Requirements:
Qualified Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registered) Previous experience in dispensary services Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
