Contract Type: This is a fixed-term, part-time position (21 hours per week) for 12 months.

Join the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) in the role of Pharmacy Professional Engagement Lead. You will lead the charge in developing the RPS Regional model across Scotland and the North of England, driving innovation in engagement approaches. Dive into the heart of the pharmacy profession, connecting across sectors, countries, and career stages, while partnering with universities to champion the benefits of RPS to students and educators. Be a pivotal link for foundation trainees and educational providers. Your influence will extend to external campaigns spotlighting the pharmacy's vital role and championing inclusivity, ensuring all RPS members thrive. Requirements:

  • A UK-registered pharmacist with good understanding of the vision and mission of RPS and shared values.
  • Ability to motivate, persuade and influence colleagues and peers;
  • Ability to collaborate with wider internal and external teams, whilst capable of high levels of self-motivation;
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and plan work to deadlines combined with the ability to display balanced initiative and forward planning within resources;
  • Flexibility to adapt and react appropriately to rapidly changing priorities;
  • Evidence of having developed a new or existing service;
  • Broad experience of pharmacy practice;
  • Willingness to travel regularly.

The Directorate

Reporting to the Head of Professional Belonging and Engagement, part of the Membership Directorate you will work in collaboration and partnership with the other Pharmacy Professional Engagement leads, the Country teams and the RPS Ambassadors.

Working together with the membership team and the country teams to develop GB-wide policy or focussing on country-specific health policies that reflect the work plan of the Boards. A key part of this is engagement with members to ensure their views and opinions are represented in the work we do and with stakeholders to create strong relationships through which we can promote the work of pharmacists.

Working to increase the visibility of the RPS within the profession particularly to students and foundation trainees, as well as working closely with other pharmacy organisations.

The Team

The engagement team will work together to lead the development and delivery of the RPS Regional model and to lead a programme of change across regions which will ensure the current approaches to RPS regional and local engagement embed and grow.

How we are currently working

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for travel into the Scotland office and to attend collaborative face-to-face working across the regions covered by the role.
